Liposuction
Dr. Mario Brandstein - specialist for liposuction on the abdomen, arms and legs
Fat is a natural component in the body. If your body has a disproportionate amount of fat, or you have small fat deposits which stubbornly refuse to disappear despite sporting activity, or if you just do not feel comfortable with your body, I can help you. Unwanted fat deposits can be removed by liposuction using the following methods:
- Tumescent local anesthesia (TLA)
- Vibration assisted liposuction (VAL)
- Water jet assisted liposuction (WAL)
- Ultrasound assisted liposuction
First, a special fluid (tumescent solution) is injected into the fat tissue through a cannula inserted into a small stab incision only few millimetres in size. The tumescent fluid contains saline solution (NaCl) to which a highly concentrated anaesthetic is added. After the fluid and anaesthetic have been given time to take effect, the dissolved fat can be suctioned off. Then, compression pants are applied to counteract swelling and obtain the best possible result. Liposuction is also effective for the treatment of hyperhidrosis axillae (extreme sweating).
